All About Databases By Design |
Databases By Design was formed in 2006 by Nick Stewart after 25 years in IT development and database design. Nick has been working with MS Access and Visual Basic since 1994. The company is based in Wellington and has clients all over New Zealand. These clients cover a variety of industries including oil, transport, recycling, central government, local government and sports management. The bulk of our business is developing new applications. We develop database applications that are designed specifically for individual business requirements. They have all the benefits of a powerful relational database and all the features of a friendly forms-based user interface. We have also developed several 'package' solutions (some in partnership with other companies) for specialised groups. These are: • Touchweigh for unattended weighbridge control • HRIS (Human Resource Information System) • Bin Hire Management for skip bin hire companies • Hawkeye 600 for Squash Access Control Our company also provides other related services: • MS Access database repairs • MS Access database audits or evaluations • data model (or schema) design • conversions from old MS Access versions • Access migrations to SQL Server • development help and advice • maintenance and enhancement of existing MS Access databases In developing and enhancing database applications, there are several goals that we always have:
